Job description

As a Food Cost Analyst, you'll play a key role in supporting financial performance by analyzing food cost data, identifying trends, and providing insights that help drive smarter business decisions. Your work will directly impact profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic planning by helping leaders better understand cost drivers and opportunities across the business.
In this role, you'll contribute by transforming large amounts of financial and operational data into meaningful analysis that supports budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning. You'll work closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to improve visibility into food and commodity costs, ensure reporting accuracy, and support informed decision-making. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
As a Food Cost Analyst, you will:
  • Analyze food cost, commodity pricing, and operational data to identify trends, variances, risks, and cost-saving opportunities
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts while investigating key financial drivers
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning related to food and operational costs
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and financial analysis to support leadership decision-making
  • Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and other teams to ensure data accuracy and reporting consistency
  • Evaluate the financial impact of operational initiatives, pricing changes, and strategic business decisions
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality, automation, and overall analytical efficiency

Required Qualifications
As a Food Cost Analyst, you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience performing financial analysis or business analysis involving large datasets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information
