What is a Food Content job?

A Food Content job involves creating and curating engaging content related to food, such as recipes, blogs, videos, and social media posts. Professionals in this role may work for food brands, publications, or as independent content creators. Their responsibilities include researching food trends, developing appealing visuals, and crafting compelling narratives to engage audiences. Strong knowledge of food, photography, and digital marketing is often required.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Food Content position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Food Content role, you need a strong grasp of writing, storytelling, food styling, photography, and an understanding of culinary trends, often supported by a background in journalism, communications, or culinary arts. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), photo editing software, SEO tools, and basic video production is highly valuable. Creativity, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to collaborate with chefs and marketers help you stand out in this position. These skills are essential for producing engaging, high-quality food content that attracts and retains audiences, supports brand goals, and meets editorial standards.

What are some typical responsibilities for someone working in a Food Content role?

In a Food Content role, your daily tasks may include developing original recipes, writing blog posts or articles, photographing and styling dishes, and creating engaging social media content around various food topics. You might also collaborate with chefs, dietitians, photographers, and marketing teams to ensure accuracy and alignment with brand messaging. Reviewing analytics to refine content strategy and staying current with culinary trends are also important aspects of the job. The work environment often involves a blend of independent creative tasks and teamwork, with opportunities to contribute creative ideas and take ownership of content projects. Over time, you can advance to senior editorial positions, content strategy roles, or specialize further in food photography or video production.

Job description

🎬 CONTENT CREATOR WANTED

Role: Content Creator

📍 Location: Los Angeles - Hybrid Preferred | US Remote considered

💼 Type: Part-time (Hourly Contractor)

💰 Pay: $20–40/hr

Do you make content that people actually want to watch? We want to talk to you.

🚀 About TubeScience

At TubeScience, we create the best-performing video ads on the internet — content so good that viewers choose to watch it. We're LA's largest performance creative agency, and we're looking for creators who can shoot scroll-stopping content.

Our 55,000 sq ft production facility in the Arts District has 25 sets — everything from white cycloramas to fully built kitchens and living rooms — plus an in-house team to help with casting, styling, and post-production.

Here's the thing: you don't need a background in advertising or marketing. If you can shoot great content on a phone or camera, understand what makes people stop scrolling, and are eager to learn the strategy side — we'll teach you the rest. The analytical thinking, the data, the performance marketing — that's what our team and environment are built to develop.

💼 What You'll Do

• Shoot up to 10 pieces of content a week across a variety of DTC brands, collaborating with a Creative Strategist or Creative Strategy Lead

• Create content across in the categories you know best — whether haircare, beauty, skincare, health & wellness, pet products, food & beverage, apps, and more

• Shoot and edit content on your phone — fast, scrappy iPhone content and B-roll

• Be on camera (UGC-style) and collaborate with others — friends, creators, and actors

• Use performance data to guide what you shoot next

🔑 What You Bring

• Experience creating video content for social media (portfolio required)

• On-camera experience or UGC background

• Ability to shoot high-quality video on an iPhone

• Proficiency with CapCut, Premiere, or similar tools

• Strong understanding of social platforms and what performs

• Organized, communicative, and fast-moving

Bonus Points

• You've created content that drove real results (sales, sign-ups, engagement)

• Experience working with brands or in fast-paced environments

🌟 Who Thrives Here

• Creators who love being on camera and producing high-volume content

• Self-starters who take initiative

• Collaborative, positive team players

• Fast learners interested in strategy and performance

This role can grow into a full-time Visual Strategist position at a company that promotes from within.
