Trilogy Federal is seeking a remote Point of Sale (POS) System Engineer to support Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, the Point of Sale (POS) System Engineer will be a versatile technical expert with a focus on continuous delivery and lifecycle management of software applications that fulfill technical, operational, and business requirements while excelling in a fast-paced, client-oriented environment. This role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented professional to join our team, implementing secure, scalable cloud-based solutions and DevOps processes to modernize VA corporate IT systems, including legacy applications and initiatives.ย 

Position Description:ย 

The Point of Sale (POS) System Engineer will be involved in planning system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May build add-on modules using application program language.ย 

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshooting Reported Issues directly from Customer, or 3rd Party Vendorย 

  • Manageย DynaTraceย for transactional flow / server statusย 

  • Manage Automated Daily Purge cycle supportย 

  • Manage Automated Daily RT Log Review Process supportย 

  • Manage Automated Daily Incoming Batch Processing supportย 

  • Manage Automated Daily Outgoing XML3, and Customer Account file processing supportย 

  • Manage 70 servers via remote access, or automated notification/task scheduler/scripting for server status/java heap dumpsย 

  • Maintain/Coordinate SSL and Security certs management on IBMย Websphereย / Apacheย 

  • Support Outgoing/Incoming SFTP Transfer Request with outside vendorย 

  • Support Deployment/Upgrade of POS Software via specialized WAS integrated software (WASADMIN)ย 

  • Support Financial Department in validation of POS monthly and individual transactions, and weekly active open banking sessions for 1,030 tills Manage POS Shared Directory for all related POS files internal usageย 

  • Support monthly CRISP LINUX patching schedule for 4 environmentsย 

  • Support monthly CRISP WINDOWs patching schedule for 4 environmentsย 

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Additional 8 years of experience if substituting experience for education.)

  • 5 years of experience in DevOps engineering, cloud infrastructure, or cybersecurity

  • IBM WebSphere Application experienceย 

  • IBM MQ experienceย 

  • SQL /ย Powershellย experienceย 

  • Windows 2019 Server experienceย 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with the VA or other federal agencies

  • Experiencing overseeing multiple projects simultaneouslyย 

  • Experience supporting program goalsย 

  • Experience collaborating with other project leadersย
