Job Description

As a Production Intern, you will learn the daily operations of a television news station while supporting our production and TechOps operations team. You'll have opportunities to gain practical experience with industry-standard broadcast technology and workflows. 

What You'll Learn 

  • Assist APC Directors during live newscast production and observe the coordination of live television broadcasts.  

  • Support producers, editors, and newsroom managers in creating and preparing content for broadcast.  

  • Learn professional media asset management, including ingesting, organizing, archiving, restoring, and managing digital media. 

  • Gain experience with newsroom file workflows and content management systems.  

  • Observe and collaborate with professionals across multiple departments, including Production, News, TechOps Operations, and Engineering.  

  • Participate in special projects and other learning opportunities that provide additional exposure to broadcast operations.

Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Graduate degree from an accredited institution with proof of enrollment. 

  • Sophomore standing or above (minimum 30 complete credit hours).  

  • Available to work at least 20 hours per week. 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 

  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal. 

  • Able to work on-site in San Antonio, Texas. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Passion for television newscasts, media production, or broadcast technology.  

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn. 

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
