Role Title: Customer- Facing Sales Engineer
Location: Onsite
Role Overview:
A custom foam manufacturer serving the medical, aerospace, automotive, industrial, and electronics markets is looking for a Sales Engineer with a chemical engineering background. This position combines hands-on technical problem-solving with direct customer engagement. Success in this role depends on carefully understanding what the customer actually needs and shaping that into a real, manufacturable outcome. This is an on-site position requiring close, real-time coordination with customers, manufacturing, and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own and develop relationships with key customer accounts, addressing both technical and commercial priorities
- Function as the go-between for customers and manufacturing, turning customer requirements into feasible production plans
- Drive new business growth by following up on inbound leads and initiating outreach to prospective customers
- Collaborate with engineering, estimating, manufacturing, and customer service teams to deliver timely and accurate quotes
- Participate in occasional site visits to customer locations and represent the company at trade shows or industry events
- Keep thorough documentation of account activity, sales pipeline status, and customer interactions
- Continuously develop expertise in foam materials, their applications, and evolving industry trends


Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a similar technical field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, able to work through ambiguous customer needs to arrive at a clear path forward
- A genuine enthusiasm for working with customers, backed by strong listening skills and the natural ability to earn trust
- Skilled at breaking down technical concepts for non-technical audiences while maintaining precision
- Self-motivated and well-organized, able to handle several priorities at once
- Comfortable working directly on a manufacturing floor and partnering across various departments
- Must be available to work on-site full time at one of the locations above

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in technical sales, application engineering, or a customer-facing technical role
- Understanding of polyurethane foam, polymer science, or materials chemistry in real-world applications
- Experience working for a smaller or mid-sized manufacturing organization
- Familiarity with the medical, aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing industries
