Job description

We are seeking a Senior Aircraft Fluid Systems Engineer to help define, model, analyze, and integrate critical fluid systems for our clean sheet design aircraft including Hydraulic Power Systems, Air Management Systems, and Environmental ControlSystems (ECS). In this role, you will work across system architecture, performance analysis, modeling and simulation, supplier collaboration, and certification-ready design to deliver robust aerospace systems for a first-of-its-kind aircraft.

This is an opportunity for an experienced systems engineer who thrives in fast moving environments, enjoys solving complex multidisciplanary problems, and can independently drive technical work from concept through execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, validate, and maintain systems level models for environmental control and hydraulic power systems using Simulink, MATLAB, Python, among other tools.
  • Perform analyses related to thermal management, airflow, pressure control, fluid dynamics, and system integration.
  • Support system architecture definition, requirements development, and verification planning.
  • Interpret and apply FAA Part 25 regulations to ensure compliance throughout design and development.
  • Lead technical interactions with suppliers, including reviewing designs, managing deliverables, and ensuring alignment with program requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support aircraft level integration and trade studies, including providing 3D layouts of equipment in CATIA.
  • Prepare clear technical documentation, analysis reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in aircraft systems engineering, fluid systems, environmental control systems, hydraulics, thermal systems, or related aerospace systems.
  • Strong experience with Simulink, MATLAB, and Python for modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
  • Solid understanding of environmental control systems, hydraulic systems, or related aircraft subsystems.
  • Ability to work independently, set priorities, and drive tasks to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with FAA Part 25 certification requirements and aircraft development processes.
  • Experience managing suppliers or external partners, including technical reviews and schedule oversight.
  • Experience supporting aircraft-level integration, system layouts, or equipment placement using CATIA or similar 3D design tools.
