Comprehensive Life Resources is looking for a qualified Registered Nurse to join our adolescent treatment facility in Tacoma, WA.
Pearl Youth Residence is one of 4 Children's Long-term Inpatient Programs (CLIP) in the state, and we serve youth ages 12-18 who have demonstrated an inability to maintain safety in their home or community.

Scope:
Nursing services will provide behavioral and physical health services to the Pearl Youth Residence. Nurses will work alongside providers and clinical teams to develop treatment criteria and goals. Nursing will assist in assessing medication efficacy and physical assessments. Nursing will arrange and assist with community appointments.
An RN who qualifies as a Mental Health Professional will be assigned, oriented, trained, supervised, monitored and evaluated, including accurate and timely completion of daily mental status exams of residents who are involuntary committed under court ordered treatment to support clinical assessment and determination of continued treatment needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing and medical services to clients
- Provide education regarding prescribed treatment
- Document in the progress notes the provision of care and the clinical and behavioral observations of clients
- Administer and document medications, adhering to state and program guidelines
- Provide first aid and emergency medical care as needed, following program guidelines
- Transcribe provider orders, following program protocols
- Measure and document client vital signs
- Other duties within the scope of practice as outlined by the Washington State Board of Nursing
- Attend all mandatory meetings
- Maintain licensure, certification and other requirements for the position.
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to design, implement, maintain, and evaluate individually tailored care plans for each client.

- Compliance with competencies determined by Nursing Director.
- Participate in competency trainings identified by Human Resources and assigned program.
- Implement nursing treatment approaches as designated through a nursing care plan.
- Observe and assess clients in terms of therapeutic response to medication and the nursing care plan.
- Assist in monitoring and documenting medical supplies, floor stock, and pharmacy communication.
- Adhere to program’s infection control policy and protocols.
- Assist in all aspects of the laboratory specimen, collection and throughput.
- Plan and lead educational and information groups for clients as assigned.
- Adhere to the incident reporting process.
Qualifications:
- RN. WA State Registered Nurse (or multi-state or compact licensure).
- One year of work experience of relevant work experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current food handler’s permit
- If role requires driving, must have valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and working vehicle.
- May require an annual flu and TB shot verification, and must be willing to follow other measures as directed by the Infection Control Manager.
- May require annual N95 fit testing
- If working at Pearl Youth Residence, must have the ability to be certified in Handle with Care verbal de-escalation and physical constraint strategies.
