The Meter and Accessory Tester will use test facilities, set-up and functionally test positive displacement meters up through the six-inch size and all accessories. Hydrotest all sizes of turbine meter housings, ultrasonic meters, valves and positive displacement meters. All tests are to be performed in accordance with engineering test procedures. Assist other operators in assembling and disassembling test setups in other test lines while automated testing is underway. Note: this job will not receive SIMO pay. The SIMO adjustment is considered in the job code.

Key Responsibilities We Will Trust You With:

Using test facilities, set-up and functionally test positive displacement meters up through the six-inch size and all accessories. Hydrotest all sizes of turbine meter housings, ultrasonic meters, valves and positive displacement meters. All tests are to be performed in accordance with engineering test procedures. Assist other operators in assembling and disassembling test setups in other test lines while automated testing is underway. Note: this job will not receive SIMO pay. The SIMO adjustment is considered in the job code.

What You Will Be Doing:
Responsibilities

  • Load meters or accessories on test stand which may be manually or computer controlled. Secure pipe fittings and electrical connections, align meters or accessories, and attach necessary supplemental equipment to perform required test functions.
  • Make all necessary adjustments and test meters or accessories per engineering test procedures.
  • Perform hydrostatic pressure tests on meters or accessories per engineering test procedures.
  • Evaluate test data and determine if the meters or accessories being tested meet engineering requirements. Maintain first pass yield data sheets
  • Detect and correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing defective parts where practical, such as packing glands, calibrators, etc.
  • After testing has been completed, drain units, and transfer tested units to skid, and line off all completed operations on router.
  • Return meters, accessories or housings which fail to meet engineering requirements to the appropriate department for evaluation and repair.
  • Apply rust preventative to meters, accessories and inner mechanisms per customer requirements and established engineering procedures.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service and Quality Assurance personnel when performing witnessed product testing with customer and outside inspectors.
  • Keep work area orderly, move material as required and follow established safety procedures.

Collaborate with Production, Warehouse, Quality, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to meet requirements and timelines.

Work Environment:

Spends 95% of the time in a manufacturing/shop environment and 5% in an office environment. Will be exposed to possible hazards including working with high-pressure equipment, working in confined spaces, high noise, inclement weather, chemicals, pressure testing, heavy lift operations and shop/field traffic.

Physical Demands:

Frequent walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, crawling in confined workspaces and lifting daily.
