Job Overview

The Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performs environmental services as needed, and performs floor care such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties according to regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned

  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self

  • Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments

  • Perform repetitive tasks

  • Maintain clean work area

  • Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules

  • Take direction and respond to supervision

  • Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner

  • Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance

  • Support shift lead in completing punch-list items

  • Use proper personal protective equipment that is required for assigned tasks

  • Present a professional appearance and conduct

  • Understand customer service and satisfaction.

  • Understand reporting systems, and of the environment

  • Operate motorized cleaning equipment

  • Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area

  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet , and brick flooring

  • Complete work assignments in a timely manner

  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure

  • Use and maintain equipment properly

  • Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely

  • Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs "wet floor"

  • Ability to work without normal supervision

  • Report safety hazards as appropriate

Qualification

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job safely. Education and/ or Experience:No education requirement 6 mo-1 year experience preferred: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: May be required to have a valid driver's licenseComplete all safety and task training certification May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
