Job description
ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking highly motivated Modeling & Simulation Systems Engineers to support the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract's (SWDC) Threat Products Services (TPS) / Threat Modeling Center (TMC) at Schriever Space Force Base, in Colorado Springs, CO.
This exciting career opportunity at the TMC is responsible for the development and delivery of high-fidelity threat modeling products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and MDA's Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).
This role requires employees to be onsite daily with no option for remote/hybrid work.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline preferred with 2 years of relevant experience, or 0-2 years' experience with a Masters' Degree
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start
- Experience with technical analysis of modeling and simulation of data sets
- Familiarity with the flight characteristics, motion, and performance of missile systems
- Familiarity with hard body heating of objects and their corresponding signature representation
- Experience with Verification and Validation of modeling and simulation of signatures data
- Experience with scripting/automation languages such as Python, Bash, or MATLAB
- Must be familiar with infrared signature concepts and physics behind hard body heating and how they affect infrared intensities
Preferred Requirements:
- Strong math, physics and/or engineering background is preferred
- Previous experience with analyzing flight characteristics, motion, atmospheric dynamics, and missile performance parameters of ballistic missiles is highly desirable
- Strong background in missile system engineering performance
- Mastery of engineering modeling principles behind body motion, trajectory analysis, counter measures, debris, and signature modeling is a plus
- Background in IR Signatures modeling
- Familiarity with Optical Signatures Code (OSC)
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
