Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Technician Lead- Electrical to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Electrical Lab Test Lead, welcoming candidates of all experience levels, with a particular focus on Level 3 or 4 technicians. Whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced professional, we encourage you to apply. This position reports to the Electronic Systems and Power Division and is responsible for managing the electrical laboratories dedicated to advanced air vehicle technology development. In this role, you will oversee the testing laboratory and actively participate in hands-on testing of battery cells, modules, packs, and systems alongside engineers. Additionally, you will support a variety of electrical and avionics system testing across various programs. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role, offering the opportunity to make a significant contribution through testing, resource management, and product validation.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Lead the electrical testing laboratory, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to safety protocols.
โ€ข Conduct hands-on testing of battery cells, modules, packs, and systems, collaborating closely with engineering teams.
โ€ข Support the development and execution of test plans for electrical and avionics systems.
โ€ข Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical systems and components at the benchtop level.
โ€ข Assist in the preparation and maintenance of high-quality engineering documentation related to testing procedures and results.
โ€ข Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of components and materials for testing.
โ€ข Participate in the development of test setups, including Processor-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulations.
โ€ข Support aircraft ground and flight test campaigns, providing technical expertise and assistance as needed.
โ€ข Ensure compliance with military and commercial standards during testing and validation processes when needed .
Minimum Requirements
-Must be a US Person (US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, or Green Card holder).
-Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
-Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Requirements
-Proven experience as an electrical technician, with a strong background in battery cell and system testing and Hardware in the loop simulation.
-Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and methodologies.
-Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Physical Requirements
-Ability to work on-site weekly at our Manassas, VA site
-Ability to lift 10 kg.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
  • Minimum Range: $49,000.00 to $88,000.00
  • Maximum Range: $56,000.00 to $100,000.00
