Job Description
Flexographic Press Operator
We are seeking an experienced Flexographic Press Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in a high-speed paper cup and food packaging production environment. This position is responsible for setting up and operating a wide web Central Impression flexographic printing press while maintaining excellent quality, color consistency, and production efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have prior flexographic printing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to run multi-color print jobs in a fast-paced, quality-focused manufacturing environment.
Shift
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Overtime may be available, including weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate a wide web Central Impression flexographic printing press
  • Safely run print jobs while maintaining quality, consistency, and production efficiency
  • Set up up to 8-color jobs
  • Mount printing plates and prepare press for production
  • Maintain color consistency using an X-Rite Spectrometer
  • Perform quick roll changes to reduce downtime
  • Wash and clean ink pots
  • Monitor print quality throughout each production run
  • Make adjustments to registration, color, impression, and press settings as needed
  • Input production data into the production/inventory management system
  • Maintain a clean and organized press area
  • Follow all food safety, quality, and SQF guidelines
  • Communicate with production, quality, and maintenance teams as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Required Qualifications
  • Prior flexographic printing experience required
  • Experience operating wide web flexographic printing equipment preferred
  • Ability to set up and run multi-color print jobs
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to read and follow job tickets, specifications, and production instructions
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic press issues
  • Willingness to learn the most efficient way to complete each job
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Central Impression flexographic presses
  • Experience with food packaging, paperboard, paper cups, or related packaging products
  • Experience with color control tools such as an X-Rite Spectrometer
  • Knowledge of SQF, GMP, food safety, or quality-controlled manufacturing environments
  • Experience with roll stock, web handling, plate mounting, ink systems, and registration control
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, squat, and bend for 8+ hours per shift
  • Ability to work safely around high-speed manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to wear required PPE while working in the production environment
