Job description

About Reflex

Reflex is building the operating system for flexible retail labor. We help retailers fill shifts faster while giving workers more flexibility and better opportunities. Operating across 25+ states and supporting thousands of W2 associates, we're creating the infrastructure layer that powers the future of hourly work.

We're a fast-moving, mission-driven team tackling complex problems across marketplace dynamics, scheduling, compliance, payments, and workforce operations. Our ambition is simple: build the category-defining platform for flexible labor.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to become the primary owner of our mobile application, the core experience used by thousands of workers every day. You'll inherit a mature, production React Native codebase and take responsibility for its architecture, quality, and direction.

This is a high-ownership role. You won't be the only person touching mobile, but you'll be the one setting the standard: defining best practices and raising the bar in code review. You'll work across the stack where it helps you ship, partnering closely with product, design, and backend.

If you like owning a product end-to-end, care about craft, and want your fingerprints on how a team builds (not just what it ships), this is for you.

What You'll Do
  • Own the architecture, quality, and direction of our React Native apps.

  • Hold the technical bar for mobile through code review, standards, and mentoring.

  • Run the release process end-to-end, including App Store and Play Store listings.

  • Turn ambiguous product problems into intuitive, high-quality experiences alongside product and design.

  • Ship features from architecture through deployment and iteration.

  • Drive improvements in performance, reliability, observability, and developer experience.

  • Contribute across the stack, including React web and backend services.

We're Looking For
  • 5+ years building and shipping production software.

  • Deep React Native expertise, including apps you've taken to scale in production.

  • Strong command of React and TypeScript.

  • A track record of raising the bar on a team: setting standards, reviewing code, mentoring engineers.

  • Comfort working across the full stack and designing/consuming APIs.

  • Strong product instincts and a bias toward shipping.

  • A clear communicator who collaborates well and thrives in startup ambiguity.

Bonus Points
  • Experience with marketplace, logistics, scheduling, or consumer products.

  • Experience with mobile performance optimization and observability.

  • Familiarity with Django, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, or AWS.

  • Startup experience and a track record of owning products from zero to one.

Why Reflex?
  • Real ownership: you'll own the mobile surface outright, not a slice of it.

  • Early-stage upside: meaningful equity and a seat at the table as we scale.

  • A team worth joining: high-ownership, low-ego, and serious about craft

If you're excited about building products that have real-world impact and want to help create the infrastructure powering the future of labor, we'd love to talk.

Our customers and users come from all walks of life, and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds. If you share our values and our enthusiasm to improve retail, you'll find a home here at Reflex. Reflex is proud to value diversity at our company. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment.
