What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors 

OHM Advisors' Environmental & Water Resource Group (EWRG) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in drinking water distribution and treatment systems to join our growing team. As a Project Engineer, you will directly contribute to the planning, design, and construction of water infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for complex water resource challenges.

Your Responsibilities 

  • Your role will include project engineering, design, planning, operational support with a focus on the process engineering aspects of water treatment and drinking water projects.
  • Work on engineering designs, prepare reports, develop plans, prepare specifications, and prepare cost estimates for water projects.
  • Adhere to budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards. Participate in developing budgets and schedules.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports and electronic deliverables; perform data entry and analysis.
  • Assist with the construction management phase on water projects including site visits, submittal reviews, and regular interaction with contractors. 
  • Assist with equipment startup, controls coordination, and system testing.  Perform operational analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of staff engineers, drafters, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments. 
  • Assist with training of new graduate engineers and interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required in one or more of the following states: Michigan, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, or Ohio.
  • Experience includes water treatment facilities, water transmission/distribution projects, water storage, groundwater wells, and master planning
  • 8-12 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on water distribution and treatment systems.
  • Experience in planning, design and construction of water treatment facilities.
  • Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative technique
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for design and submittal markup.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and other relevant design software.
  • Experience with project management principles and practices.
  • Experience with wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment is a plus, but not a requirement.
