A project engineer must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. He or she should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and have excellent written and oral communication skills.

This career requires analytical and mathematical skills, and a firm understanding of the main principles of engineering and construction.

A site project engineer is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Work with site engineering & maintenance resources to develop project scope and objectives.
  • Follow project front end loading process and identify project phases and design requirements.
  • Develop project estimates including equipment, construction and commissioning cost.
  • Perform project financial analysis.
  • Provide leadership to bring the project through the approval process.
  • Coordinate project Mechanical, Process & Electrical design with in-house and contracted resources.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
  • Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and adhering to the plan and schedule.
  • Control project costs by monitoring purchases, construction and commissioning costs.
  • Assist with providing daily construction management support.
  • Maintains project design and commissioning documentation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree preferred or 5 years of relevant project engineering experience.

Industrial plant experience in chemical processing preferred.

Good communication and presentation skills (both oral and written).

Good interpersonal and Conflict Resolution Skills with the ability to influence managers, peers, and maintenance team.

Ability to utilize other software tools as appropriate SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint)
