Job description

Description
As the Senior Survey Technician, you will be responsible for the production of CAD deliverables while applying knowledge of surveying and mapping principles. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing survey drawings, working with boundary and topographic data, and utilizing CAD software to support land development, commercial, and construction projects. Experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and utility mapping is a plus.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Prepare accurate CAD drawings and deliverables for boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction, and land development surveys.
  • Apply surveying and mapping principles to support project documentation, including legal descriptions, easements, and survey research.
  • Perform calculations for field crews and assist with survey data processing and mapping activities.
  • Analyze deeds, plats, legal documents, and research materials to support the production of survey deliverables.
  • Utilize CAD software to process survey data, create plan sets, and extract linework and features from point clouds using TopoDOT or similar software.
  • Collaborate with survey field crews to assist with data collection, quality control, and project completion.
  • Maintain knowledge of current surveying technology, CAD standards, and software updates.


What You'll Need:
  • Experience with ALTA/NSPS standards, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction surveys, FEMA-related survey requirements, and preparation of legal descriptions preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of CADD systems, including Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite; additional surveying and design software experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of survey drafting standards, mapping principles, and the ability to interpret survey field data and project documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently, accurately, and independently while managing multiple projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Interest in continued professional growth and pursuing advancement within the surveying and mapping profession.
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
