Job Description:

Contracts professional looking to expand and grow strategic footprint within the organization. Self-starter capable of high-level independent work managing DoD, Commercial and CAS covered contracts. Support large program efforts, regularly contribute in business strategy formation and tactical implementations at all levels.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage a complex and strategic portfolio of work, providing business, contractual, and risk mitigation strategic guidance for DoD-related Commercial and CAS covered contracts from contract inception to contract close-out.ย 
  • Contractual support to business-critical areas including the development and advancement of commercial and programmatic strategies, operational decision making, delivering proposal risk analysis and mitigation alternatives, and negotiation oversight.
  • Apply contracts direction in contract formation activities, such as defending Commercial Item positions, maximizing negotiated outcomes, and providing broad based business judgement while monitoring compliance with government acquisition regulations.ย 
  • Participate in the proposal development process by identifying areas of risk, and promoting innovative solutions to internal and external customers.ย 
  • Self-starter capable of high-level independent work with strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Outreach and partner with other key functional areas, such as Finance, Programs and Sales on new and continuing programs to ensure desired objectives and outcomes are achieved.
  • Continue to advance commercial pricing strategies and support commercial item procurement justifications where applicable. Analyze new laws, regulations and contract trends for potential impact on business goals and objectives.
  • Work in partnership with legal counsel to provide recommendations from a Contracts perspective on legal activities, intellectual property interests, disputes, claims, protests, and lawsuits.
  • Ability to obtain a USย Security Clearance.
  • Understanding of US Government acquisition regulations, cost and price estimating concepts, Intellectual Property and an in-depth working knowledge of FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 15 acquisition.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior related experience in Contract Management and US Government Federal Acquisition Regulation. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Strongย interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability toย work well in a team environment.
  • In depth knowledge of contract lifecycle management: RFP review, proposal preparation, negotiation, and administration.
  • Familiarityย with U.S. Government contracting.ย 
  • Self-starterย with strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Creativeย and strategic mindset.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $95,500 - $177,500.ย  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
