Job description

We are looking for an entry-level Financial Analyst to join our team in California on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with budgets, analyzing financial performance, and turning data into clear insights for leadership. The position will support planning activities, cost monitoring, and reporting needs while partnering with stakeholders to help drive informed business decisions.
Responsibilities:
• Support the full budgeting cycle, including planning, updates, and ongoing financial tracking across workforce and operating expenses.
• Compare budgeted figures against actual results, investigate variances, and highlight key drivers affecting financial performance.
• Monitor spending trends and cost assumptions, then provide practical recommendations to balance business needs with financial targets.
• Prepare clear financial summaries and reporting materials for executive audiences, presenting complex information in a clear format.
• Assist with headcount planning by tracking staffing changes, analyzing workforce costs, and maintaining accurate reporting.
• Use spreadsheets and financial data tools to organize information, build reports, and contribute to forecasting activities when needed.
• Partner with internal teams to gather inputs, validate numbers, and improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial analysis.• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience supporting budget management, including tracking plan versus actual performance and explaining variances.
• Ability to create executive-level reporting packages that communicate financial results clearly and effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, data analysis, and financial reporting.
• Experience using spreadsheet tools such as Google Sheets or similar platforms; exposure to forecasting is a plus.
• Familiarity with financial markets and tools such as Bloomberg Terminal is beneficial.
