Job description

Key Responsibilities

Practice Management & Operations

  • Oversee the daily operations of the medical practice, ensuring an efficient, professional, and patient-focused environment.
  • Manage and supervise administrative, front-office, and coding staff.
  • Develop staffing schedules, assign responsibilities, and monitor employee performance.
  • Establish and maintain operational procedures to improve workflow, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
  • Monitor practice performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational challenges.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for physicians, clinical staff, administrative employees, and leadership.
  • Address operational issues and resolve staff and patient concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations of staff.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, HIPAA, and applicable industry standards.

Coding Leadership & Oversight

  • Supervise and provide leadership to coding staff, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant coding practices.
  • Review coding processes and monitor coding quality, productivity, and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to coders regarding CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, and applicable coding guidelines.
  • Conduct coding audits and identify trends, errors, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with physicians and clinical staff to improve documentation and coding accuracy.
  • Assist with identifying and correcting coding-related issues that may impact reimbursement.
  • Stay current with changes to coding guidelines, payer requirements, and healthcare regulations.
  • Develop and implement coding education and training programs for staff and providers.
  • Collaborate with billing and revenue cycle teams to identify and resolve coding-related denials and payment issues.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and processes to support compliance and minimize audit risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPC certification required or equivalent professional coding credential.
  • Previous experience in medical practice management, healthcare operations, coding, or revenue cycle management.
