Account Manager-Pump Sales


Position Summary:


This role is focused on selling new pumps, pump repair, and field services including the associated control systems into the wastewater and water systems market as well as the industrial base. The role is expected to drive growth through new opportunities, nurturing existing customer relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge around pumps and pump applications, consultative selling skills and demonstrated experience in the water/wastewater and industrial industries.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Drive sales of drives, pumps, parts, wastewater treatment products and related services.
  • Regularly visit customer sites to identify needs, provide solutions, and generate leads.
  • Work with inside sales and engineering to prepare accurate quotes for new equipment and repair services, utilizing selected programs and catalogs.
  • Work with inside sales and engineering to select and size pump systems using internal tools and technical catalogs.
  • Analyze specifications and assist in creating tailored project proposals.
  • Work with inside sales to assemble complete submittal and sales packages as needed.
  • Ensure product quality and provide on-site technical support.
  • Work with or pump channel partners to ensure successful results on selling distributed items.
  • Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and contractors to deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure RAM/ISS are on bid lists and part of the bidding process.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in pump sales and service within the water/wastewater industry.
  • Knowledge of pumping systems and components such as drives, controls, pumps, blowers, filtration systems.
  • Proven success in building client relationships and closing sales in repair, competitive bidding, and new equipment sales.
  • Professional presence with a customer-first attitude and relationship building skillset.
  • Self-motivated and results driven.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows-based software.
