Job description

Armed Security Officer - Flex

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Armed Security Officer to protect our clients’ assets, ensure the safety of personnel, and maintain a secure environment. This role requires a strong sense of vigilance, a high level of responsibility, and adherence to all security protocols and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a background in law enforcement, military police, or corrections and must be capable of handling a firearm responsibly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, identifying potential security breaches or hazards
  • Deter, detect, and respond to security threats or incidents promptly and professionally
  • Control access points and monitor premises to prevent unauthorized access
  • Provide emergency response, including de-escalation, arrest control, and restraining individuals as necessary
  • Maintain clear and concise incident reports and documentation for all security-related incidents
  • Engage with individuals in a courteous and professional manner to enforce rules and regulations
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement when required

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience: Background in Military Police, law enforcement, or certified corrections is required
  • Firearms: Must have own firearm and a valid license to carry; an armed guard license is required in applicable states
  • Training: Certified in arrest control, handcuff, and baton use
  • Screenings: Must pass random drug testing and a psychological evaluation (MMPI exam)
  • Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physical duties such as patrolling, responding to incidents, and managing potentially intense confrontations
  • Compliance: Understanding of and commitment to all local, state, and federal security and firearm regulations
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have obtained Top Security Clearance in the past 5 years
  • Must have obtained a Security Clearance in the past 5 years

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong observational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities
  • High level of professionalism and discretion
  • Prior training or certification in security management, conflict resolution, or emergency response

Physical Requirements: This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

  • Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)
  • Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
