Job Summary

The Inspection and Repair Operator is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and documenting electronic assemblies and components to ensure compliance with quality and workmanship standards. This role sets up workstations with the appropriate inspection documentation, process instructions, and visual aids, performs in-process and final "go/no-go" inspections, and identifies defects using inspection equipment such as microscopes, magnification devices, and automated inspection systems. The operator completes touch-up and repair activities, adjusts or reworks components to meet electrical and dimensional specifications, and accurately records inspection and production data in shop floor control systems. Working closely with production teams and manufacturing support personnel, the Inspection and Repair Operator communicates quality concerns, supports continuous improvement efforts, and helps ensure products meet customer and company quality requirements before shipment.

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 11pm-7:15am - 3rd shift

What a typical day looks like:

  • Sets up stationswith the correct process inspection documents, screens, and/or workflow instructions.

  • Performs in process and online "go/no go" inspections of various types of electronics, subassemblies, peripherals or a larger assembly, identifying defects according to workmanship standards.

  • Handlestouch-up and repairs.

  • Interprets the manufacturing process instructions, visual aids/drawings (e.g. microscope and magnifying lenses).

  • Scans product and entersinformationinto the shop floor control system or manual tracking systems when applicable.

  • Adjusts, trims or otherwise processes materials or components found on product in order to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.

  • Collaborates and ensures communication ofprocess problemstopeers, supervisors/leads and/or manufacturing supportteams.

  • Documents workload, calculating the number of products inspected and rejected.

  • Creatively use the necessary materials needed to perform repairing operations.

  • Use machines, such as an Automatic Inspection machine, to detect defects.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, quality inspection, repair, rework, or assembly operations in a production environment.

  • Experience performing visual inspections, defect identification, touch-up, and repair of electronic assemblies and components utilizing established workmanship and quality standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions, work orders, drawings, visual aids, and inspection criteria to ensure product compliance.

  • Basic computer skills with experience using shop floor control systems, barcode scanners, production tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications to enter and maintain inspection and production data.

  • Experience operating inspection equipment such as microscopes, magnification devices, and automated inspection systems (AOI) is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to identify quality issues and effectively communicate findings to operators, supervisors, and manufacturing support teams.

  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical training, electronics coursework, IPC certification, or related manufacturing experience prefer
