Fleet Manager Manager Jobs in Florida (NOW HIRING)

The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida is seeking to hire a Full-time Fleet Manager for our Land Resources Department. This is a professional position of service to the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida (“Tribe”) requiring specialized knowledge in environmental project management and federal grant compliance. The incumbent will serve a key role in overseeing the development, coordination, and successful implementation of projects funded under the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) program. These efforts directly support the Tribe’s environmental goals and resilience strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of a CPRG-funded Fleet EV transition.
• Coordinate and evaluate the work of Electrification Coalition (subawardee) and their subcontractor (HDR) on all tasks assigned per their subaward agreement.
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure that Fleet-related project objectives align with Tribal priorities and policy frameworks.
• Ensure timely and effective execution of Fleet-related CPRG-funded activities, including the preparation and submission of project deliverables and reports.
• Manage Fleet-related project budget, in close coordination with the Project Manager and Post-Award Grant Coordinator, ensuring expenditures are tracked and aligned with Tribal and federal requirements.
• Administer all Fleet-related compliance and reporting requirements as outlined by the EPA’s CPRG program, including documentation, auditing, and performance metrics.
• Monitor on-the-ground implementation of Fleet-related project components, including site visits and progress inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans and timelines.
• The incumbent must be dedicated to serve the needs, interests, and people of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, and must be diligent to protect and assert Tribal sovereignty.
• The incumbent may be assigned other duties, as is deemed necessary and required.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

The incumbent will be organized under the Land Resources Department and reports directly to the Land Resources Director, or other management designee. The Land Resources Department is organized under Sustainable Resources, which constitutes the Miccosukee Environmental Protection Agency Departments (i.e., Water Resources, Land Resources, Fish & Wildlife) and Grants Department. Sustainable Resources is led by the Chief Sustainability Officer.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public administration, project management, or a related field is required, though an advanced degree is preferred. Demonstrated experience in managing federally funded environmental projects is highly preferred. Familiarity with EPA grants and resilience planning is considered an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is based on Miccosukee Tribal Lands and may require occasional field travel to project sites or regional meetings. Work is typically conducted in an office setting, though field inspections or public engagement activities may require outdoor work in varied environmental conditions. The incumbent must be able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Remote and hybrid working privileges can be extended with Business Council approval and will be subject to Land Resources Director oversight.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Strong knowledge of EV technology including best practices for use, maintenance, and environmental impacts.
• Demonstrated experience in environmental project management, accounting, and compliance reporting, preferably involving EPA programs.
• Proficiency in project planning software and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Teams).
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, inter-departmental coordination, and community outreach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and with diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to upholding Tribal values, priorities, and environmental sovereignty.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience managing or coordinating EPA or other federal environmental grants, with specific familiarity with CPRG or related programs.
• Experience working with Tribal governments or Indigenous communities.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, energy transition policy, or GHG emissions tracking methodologies.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus but not required.
