Job description

Fixed and Rotating Equipment ManagerPBF Energy Inc. (NYSE:PBF) is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We have an opportunity at our Martinez Refinery in California and are seeking a talented Fixed and Rotating Equipment Manager to join our team as a pivotal member that would play a key role here at PBF Energy.

The Fixed and Rotating Equipment Manager provides strategic leadership and technical oversight to the refinery's Fixed and Rotating Equipment teams to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operations of refinery assets. This position is responsible for developing and executing equipment integrity and reliability strategies, leading a team of engineering professionals, and partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, Capital Projects, and Business Services to optimize equipment performance and support refinery business objectives. The role promotes continuous improvement, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance while fostering employee development and a culture of stewardship of refinery assets.

Job Responsibilities May Include:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and technical oversight for the Fixed Equipment Engineering and Rotating Equipment teams, including Fixed Equipment Engineers, Corrosion and Materials Engineers, Rotating Equipment Engineers, and Field Specialists.
  • Develop and execute strategies that improve the reliability, availability, integrity, and long-term performance of refinery fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and refinery policies while providing technical assurance and resolving equipment integrity issues.
  • Lead equipment integrity and reliability programs, including corrosion management, condition monitoring, fitness-for-service evaluations, machinery reliability, and risk management initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, Capital Projects, and Business Services to support safe, reliable, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective refinery operations.
  • Manage departmental staffing, workforce planning, succession planning, employee development, training, performance management, coaching, and recognition programs.
  • Establish departmental priorities, allocate resources, and monitor performance to achieve business objectives and reliability targets.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets while providing stewardship of capital projects, turnaround work scopes, and other reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate equipment reliability, asset integrity, and organizational performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment performance, reduce operational risk, and improve overall business effectiveness.
  • Promote a culture of Shared Stewardship of Assets by fostering accountability and cross-functional collaboration for equipment integrity and reliability.
  • Serve as a key technical advisor to refinery leadership, providing recommendations that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and sound business decisions.
  • Participate as a member of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT), contributing to refinery-wide initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Available in off hours and days to respond to refinery issues or emergencies, including on-call emergency response functions.

  • Work Schedule:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10 years' experience in the fixed equipment or rotating equipment discipline in the petrochemical industry.
  • 5 years Supervisory experience

The salary range for this position is $127,218.49 - $226,895.29. The compensation range listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate's compensation. In addition to salary, PBF offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
