Job Title

Cybersecurity Technology Operations Engineer

About your role:

The Cyber Security Technology Operations Engineer supports the stability, reliability, and security of enterprise cybersecurity platforms and services. This role focuses on Core Operations: running, monitoring, executing, and recovering production services through real-time monitoring, structured runbook execution, incident and request workflows, health checks, validation procedures, and clear documentation.

What you'll do:

  • Daily Operational Support: Support production cybersecurity platforms and services through incident response, request fulfillment, change execution, health checks, recovery actions, failover support, and standard operational tasks.
  • Queue and Communication Management: Triage emails, alerts, ServiceNow incidents, requests, Jira items, request queues, and operational communications to support timely ownership, action, and escalation.
  • Monitoring and Observability: Monitor systems, applications, platforms, services, and batch jobs for availability, performance, latency, traffic, errors, saturation, certificate validity, job completion, job failure, and other service health indicators.
  • Runbook Execution and Service Validation: Execute approved troubleshooting procedures, recovery actions, service restarts, job validations, O/S patch validations, platform patch validations, disaster recovery runbook steps, failover procedures, and post-change checks.
  • ITSM and Request Support: Support incident, problem, change, request, request queue, service account, and escalation processes by documenting actions, outcomes, ownership, and follow-up commitments.
  • Improve monitoring coverage, alert quality, service health visibility, synthetic monitoring, and operational metrics using SRE-aligned practices.
  • Strengthen runbooks, SOPs, recovery procedures, disaster recovery guidance, and repeatable support processes.
  • Identify recurring issues, monitoring gaps, failed recoveries, job failures, and process inefficiencies, then lead permanent fixes or automation improvements.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent education, related experience, and/or military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in enterprise-level support, cybersecurity operations, system administration, SaaS platforms, cloud environments, infrastructure operations, platform monitoring, O/S patching, batch/job monitoring, or production support.
  • Experience with ITSM tools and workflows, including incident, problem, change, request, request queue, escalation, and service validation management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including the ability to assess alerts, gather evidence, identify impact, execute standard recovery steps, validate completion, and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical findings, risks, decisions, actions, outcomes, and follow-up items clearly.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience with monitoring and observability concepts such as SRE Golden Signals, HTTP/API test creation, synthetic monitoring, validation logic, content assertions, dashboards, alert thresholds, event correlation, alert tuning, and incident automation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Moogsoft, Splunk, Dynatrace, ThousandEyes, CloudWatch, Grafana, Tanium, scheduler tools, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, Linux/Unix concepts, web services, cloud or hybrid infrastructure, networking, TLS/SSL certificates, certificate management, API troubleshooting, batch scheduling, and job dependencies.
  • Familiarity with automation, scripting, synthetic script development, or automated validation concepts using tools such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, or automated recovery workflows.
  • Preferred exposure to Public Key Infrastructure, certificate lifecycle management, key management systems, identity platforms, endpoint security, vulnerability management, disaster recovery procedures, failover support, or related cybersecurity technologies.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Travel:

  • Approximately 10% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected.

Sponsorship:

  • You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered.
