Senior Solutions Architect, Financial Systems

Location & Work Arrangement

This position follows a hybrid work schedule. Candidates must be able and willing to work onsite four days per week from one of the following Citizens hub locations:

  • Iselin, NJ

Citizens is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect, Financial Systems to provide technical leadership and architectural direction for enterprise accounting and financial systems. This role will lead solution design and delivery across Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and related financial platforms supporting critical accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting.

As a member of the Accounting Technologies team, you will work closely with Accounting, Finance, Technology, and Enterprise Architecture partners to define scalable solutions, establish architectural standards, and guide delivery across a cross-functional Agile pod. You will help shape technology strategy, drive modernization initiatives, and ensure solutions meet operational, regulatory, and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture and technical direction for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and related accounting platforms.
  • Partner with Accounting, Finance, and Technology stakeholders to define and deliver strategic technology solutions.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and implementation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership to a cross-functional pod consisting of developers, analysts, and testers.
  • Drive backlog prioritization, solution planning, and delivery execution aligned to business value, risk, and dependencies.
  • Establish architecture standards, best practices, and governance processes.
  • Support modernization initiatives and integration strategies across enterprise financial systems.
  • Evaluate platform capabilities and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure alignment with organizational standards, guidelines, and technology strategies.
  • Present technical recommendations, roadmaps, and delivery updates to business and technology leaders.
  • Partner with vendors and third-party providers to ensure solutions support business objectives and enterprise standards.
  • Analyze technology trends and provide recommendations that support long-term business and architectural goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Application Architecture, Technical Architecture, or Technical Leadership roles.
  • Deep experience supporting enterprise accounting or financial systems.
  • Strong Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) experience, including one or more of the following modules:
    • General Ledger (GL)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Fixed Assets (FA)
    • Project Accounting (PA)
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale financial technology solutions.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of systems integration, application architecture, and data management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving technology initiatives.
  • Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business partners, and executive leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, Insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Hyperion DRM, Oracle Essbase, or related financial planning solutions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with modern development frameworks such as Angular and Spring Boot.
  • Experience operating within Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience managing product backlogs, sprint planning, and prioritization activities.
