Staff Accountant

Location: North Liberty, IA
Hours: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Range: $50k - $70k

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for month-end close activities, monthly bank reconciliation, and managing Centro’s fixed asset accounting. This includes creating and posting journal entries and maintaining general ledger account reconciliations. This role assists with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, as needed. The Staff Accountant will focus on maintaining accurate financial statements while working closely with the Controller on ad-hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end tasks that involve analysis, journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting. Key tasks include:
    • intercompany
    • prepaid software and insurance
    • healthcare, property tax, and sales/use tax accruals
    • product return accrual and analysis
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including tracking new capital expenditures.
  • Reconcile Centro's monthly bank statements to the general ledger and communicate required adjusting journal entries.
  • Manage accounting and financial statements for the Centro UK entity
  • Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Partner with the Controller on ad-hoc reporting and financial projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and two years of finance-related experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and teamwork
  • Ability to handle detailed information and apply accounting logic
  • Comfortable working in an office setting with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Office-based with occasional time in the manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and use standard office equipment
