The Position

We are looking to hire a highly motivated Lead Systems Analyst to make an impact in the high demand and strategic Trading Technology Team that manages Wellington's proprietary Fixed Income, Equity and FX trading platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and facilitating the onboarding process for dealers and vendors using the Financial Information Exchange (FIX) protocol.

This role involves working closely with technology counterparts at other firms as well as members of the internal technology team including developers, business analysts, and QE engineers to design, develop, test, implement, and support solutions to meet new product requirements.

You will interact closely with members of our Investment Implementation and Trading department in architecting world-class Trade execution capabilities. As a Systems Analyst, you will be faced with compelling challenges and encouraged to solve problems by using innovative techniques. This opportunity will allow you to work with and learn from exceptional technology and business professionals through cross-platform, data driven projects and assignments

Responsibilities

As a Lead Systems Analyst in Trading Technology, the individual will have the following responsibilities:

  • Lead the onboarding process for brokers, dealers and vendor partners, ensuring seamless integration with our trading systems.

  • Serve as one of the primary contacts for external parties during the onboarding process, providing technical support and guidance.

  • Design and implement AI-assisted intelligent tools to automate FIX onboarding workflows, including configuration validation, message conformance checks, exception categorization, and root-cause analysis using historical FIX traffic and onboarding data to improve accuracy and accelerate onboarding timelines.

  • Configure and test FIX connections to ensure they meet specifications and industry standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the onboarding process by using logs, SQL, audits, network logs etc.

  • Continuously improve the onboarding process by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments related to the FIX protocol and electronic trading to ensure our integrations are of highest caliber.

  • Partner with different trading business teams and business analysts to define and develop requirements for new FIX integrations with Wellington's order management systems (OMS) workflows and other auxiliary trading applications

  • Work with the trading business team to prioritize needs and convey plans, issues and concerns to business users in a clear, logical and concise manner

  • Develop deep knowledge and expertise in Wellington specific trading workflows

  • Facilitate resolution of production issues by working with appropriate teams (internal and external) to research problems, track progress and determine and document solutions

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments related to the FIX protocol and electronic trading to ensure our integrations are of highest caliber.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of demonstrated Business Analyst or Systems Analyst experience designing and developing technical solutions

  • Strong understanding of the FIX protocol and electronic trading systems.

  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) for automation and testing.

  • Demonstrated experience in design, delivery, implementation and/or support of an order management system within the investment management industry

  • Hands-on experience with trade execution workflows, trade confirmation and post-trade workflows

  • Knowledge of order management systems (OMS) workflows or asset class specific trading practices and protocols, electronic trading practices and markets is a plus

  • Strong understanding of one or more of the following: Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, FX instruments

  • Project management skills and experience are a plus

  • Familiarity with network protocols and security practices.

  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks

  • Self-motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced team environment with strong time management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Certification in FIX protocol or related areas is a plus

The base salary range for this position is:

USD 90,000 - 180,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salaryis only one component of Wellington's total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
