Job Description

Location: NYC (Hybrid - 3 days onsite/week)

Visa Sponsorship: We offer sponsorship under specific treaty-based U.S. work visas, including TN and E-2 (for eligible citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B). 

We are looking for a highly technical Application Support Engineer to support Front Office Fixed Income eTrading platforms, with a strong focus on pre-trade workflows (pricing, quoting, execution).

This role sits directly on the trading floor, working closely with traders, quants, and sales, ensuring low-latency, high-availability trading systems operate seamlessly. You will be responsible for real-time issue resolution, system performance, and data integrity across the trading stack.

Role and responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 support for ION Front Office eTrading applications (Fixed Income / IRD)
  • Troubleshoot trade lifecycle issues (capture, pricing, PnL, risk)
  • Investigate trade and data breaks using SQL (positions, market data, reconciliations)
  • Analyze issues across FIX, APIs, and messaging systems
  • Support Orchestrade platform (configuration, workflows, trade events)
  • Monitor and debug systems on Unix/Linux (logs, processes, performance)
  • Build automation scripts (Python / Shell) for monitoring and reconciliation
  • Support releases, deployments, and incident management
  • Work closely with traders and developers to resolve issues and improve systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time L1/L2 support for pre-trade eTrading systems (pricing, RFQ, execution, market connectivity)
  • Troubleshoot latency, pricing, and trade flow issues across Fixed Income (Rates / Credit / IRD)
  • Support FIX connectivity, APIs, and market data feeds to ensure stable trading flows
  • Perform log analysis, SQL queries, and Unix diagnostics to resolve incidents quickly
  • Work closely with traders, quants, and developers on issue resolution and platform improvements

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Front Office Application Support within eTrading environments
  • Strong understanding of Fixed Income products and pre-trade workflows
  • Hands-on experience supporting pricing / quoting / execution systems
  • Solid technical skills in Unix/Linux, SQL, and log analysis
  • Familiarity with FIX protocol and electronic trading architecture
  • Ability to operate in a high-pressure trading floor environment
  • Strong communication skills - ability to interact directly with traders and quants
  • Experience with ION (MarketView / Anvil) or similar pre-trade platforms is a strong plus
