Summary Statement
Family Court is seeking a Controller This position will report to the Court Administrator and is responsible for assigning and reviewing the work of subordinate technical staff engaged in the Court's fiscal program.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Controller provides comprehensive fiscal and administrative oversight for Family Court, including management of federal grants and IV-D, and IV-E funding initiatives. The position oversees federal reimbursement for child welfare contracts as well as fiscal operations supporting Family Court, and responsibilities include payroll, revenue collection, vendor and pass-through payments, fines, procurement, technology purchasing and inventory, contracts, RFPs, and fiscal policies and procedures, while serving as a liaison with state agencies and vendors. The position also oversees juvenile restitution collection, disbursement, and joint and several restitution orders.\r\n\r\n\r\n
Essential Functions

Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here.\r\n\r\n\r\n\tAnalyzes, reconciles and consolidates vouchers, records, journals, ledgers and statements.\r\n\tMonitors expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary recommendations.\r\n\tReviews financial transactions and codes for conformance to standard procedures and accounts.\r\n\tCompiles, analyzes and prepares a variety of statements and reports for state, special, private or federal funded programs for use in financial, budget and personnel planning.\r\n\tDevelops cost projections based on past records and anticipated activities and makes fiscally sound\r\n recommendations.\r\n\tApplies standardized accounting principles and practices.\r\n\tReviews internal accounting policies and procedures and makes recommendations for revisions.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Controller\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\n\r\n\r\n1.\tThree years' experience in analyzing financial problems, developing alternatives, recommending and\r\n advising management on solutions.\r\n2.\tThree years' experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.\r\n3.\tSix months experience in financial administration such as comprehensive analysis of programs, budgets,\r\n projects, services, alternatives, and costs; financial planning, revenue generation, revenue forecasting,\r\n expenditure forecasting, cash flow management and establishing internal control.\r\n4.\tSix months experience in budget administration which includes managing, developing, analyzing and\r\n implementing budgets; developing strategic plans and establishing internal control.\r\n5.\tSix months experience in staff supervision which includes planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating\r\n the work of others.\r\n\r\n\r\n
