Job description

SE Ranking is a profitable, global SaaS company helping businesses, agencies, and marketing teams improve their visibility across Search, AI Search, and Social. We serve customers worldwide, operate as a remote-first organization, and are entering our next stage of growth as we evolve into an AI-native, multi-product platform.

We are looking for a VP Finance to join our leadership team and become the CEO's partner on financial planning, business performance, capital allocation, long-term value creation, and leadership of the company's Finance and Legal functions.

The Opportunity

SE Ranking has built a meaningful, growing SaaS business. As we continue scaling and evolving into an AI-native, multi-product platform, finance must evolve from a reporting function into a strategic operating function.

We are looking for a finance leader who can help shape company strategy, improve decision-making, strengthen planning and forecasting, and build the financial capabilities required for our next stage of growth.

This is the senior finance leadership role at SE Ranking. The successful candidate will lead the Finance function, serve as a key member of the leadership team, and help build the capabilities, team, and operating discipline required to support a significantly larger and more complex business.

We are looking for someone with the ambition and capability to lead Finance at SE Ranking for the long term and play a meaningful role in shaping the company's future.

This role is not about maintaining the status quo. It is about helping leadership answer questions such as:

  • Where should we invest for the highest long-term return?
  • How should we balance growth and profitability?
  • How do we allocate resources across products, markets, and initiatives?
  • What financial outcomes should we expect from major business decisions?
  • How do we build a company capable of operating successfully at significantly greater scale?

The VP Finance will report directly to the CEO and serve as a member of the leadership team.

What You'll OwnBusiness Performance, Planning & Decision Support
  • Partner with the CEO, Board, and leadership team on long-term value creation
  • Build multi-year financial plans, forecasts, and scenario models to support growth, profitability, and investment decisions
  • Support long-term planning, capital allocation decisions, and evaluation of future growth opportunities
  • Help leadership evaluate pricing, retention, expansion, product investments, and resource allocation decisions
  • Analyze growth investments, efficiency initiatives, and business trade-offs
  • Improve visibility into business performance through SaaS metrics, forecasting, and operating reviews
  • Drive planning processes across revenue, headcount, operating expenses, profitability, and resource allocation
  • Turn financial and operational data into actionable insights that improve decision-making across the business
Executive, Board & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to the CEO, Board, lenders, investors, auditors, and other external stakeholders
  • Develop board-quality reporting and financial storytelling
  • Provide leadership with clear, actionable insights into business performance and financial outcomes
  • Build confidence and credibility around the company's planning, reporting, and decision-making capabilities
  • Support financing, strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and other corporate development opportunities as they arise
  • Help ensure the company maintains the reporting quality, governance, and operational readiness expected by increasingly sophisticated stakeholders
Finance & Legal Leadership
  • Build and lead high-performing Finance and Legal organizations capable of supporting the company through its next stage of growth and increasing operational complexity
  • Build, develop, and retain strong teams across Finance and Legal, creating a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership and direction across accounting, financial operations, planning, reporting, legal, governance, and business partnership functions
  • Create the operating cadence, accountability, and management processes required for high-performing Finance and Legal teams
  • Build the finance foundation required for SE Ranking's next stage, including GAAP-quality reporting, audit readiness, close cadence, multi-entity consolidation, revenue recognition discipline, controls, and scalable finance systems
  • Lead the modernization of finance systems and infrastructure, including the transition from QuickBooks to NetSuite or an equivalent ERP platform
  • Ensure strong governance, compliance, risk management, and operational discipline across the organization
  • Establish the financial capabilities, reporting discipline, and operational rigor expected of a category-leading SaaS company
  • Ensure the Finance and Legal functions can support a significantly larger and more complex business than we are today
What We're Looking ForRequired
  • Experience leading finance within a SaaS business, ideally between $20M and $100M ARR
  • Strong background across FP&A, business performance, financial leadership, and finance operations
  • Proven experience building or materially upgrading a finance function
  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, recurring revenue models, forecasting, unit economics, and capital allocation
  • Experience developing multi-year operating plans and supporting executive decision-making
  • Ability to connect company strategy with financial outcomes and operational execution
  • Experience partnering with CEOs, leadership teams, Boards, lenders, investors, or private equity stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills
  • Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on builder
  • Experience leading teams and developing future leaders
  • Experience working in multi-entity, international environments
  • Comfortable operating in a remote-first, globally distributed organization
Preferred
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification
  • Experience in PE-backed, VC-backed, or founder-led SaaS businesses
  • Experience with audit readiness, financial governance, and finance transformation initiatives
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, financing activities, or strategic transactions
  • Experience scaling finance organizations through periods of rapid growth and increasing complexity
  • Experience overseeing legal, compliance, governance, or other corporate functions
  • Strong interest in automation, AI, and modern finance systems
Success in This Role

Within the first 12-18 months, success would include:

  • Reliable forecasting, planning, and operating review processes that improve company decision-making
  • Strong visibility into growth, profitability, efficiency, and investment performance
  • Increased confidence from the Board, lenders, investors, auditors, and leadership team
  • Improved financial discipline around resource allocation and investment decisions
  • Successful modernization of finance systems and reporting infrastructure
  • A Finance and Legal organization that is both operationally excellent and strategically influential
  • Financial capabilities, governance, and reporting quality that support the company's next stage of growth and complexity
Why Join SE Ranking

This is an opportunity to become the senior finance leader of a profitable, growing SaaS company with global reach, strong fundamentals, and significant ambition.

You will work directly with the CEO and Board, help shape the company's future, and build Finance and Legal functions that play a central role in strategy, execution, governance, and long-term value creation.

For the right candidate, this role offers significant ownership, executive visibility, and the opportunity to build and lead a world-class Finance organization as SE Ranking continues to scale.
