Job description

The Quality Assurance Inspector at New Flyer is a crucial role focused on maintaining the highest quality standards for our buses. This position involves thorough inspections throughout various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with both internal and external quality control standards. Inspectors will collaborate closely with production teams, addressing quality issues as they arise and providing guidance on best practices to ensure compliance with specifications.
Hours of this position are:
1st Shift- Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm
Requirements
What You Will Do:
  • Conduct in-process inspections of components and assemblies during manufacturing.
  • Perform final inspections on completed buses prior to delivery to ensure adherence to customer specifications.
  • Document all inspection results, quality issues, and corrective actions in a clear and timely manner.
  • Engage in root cause analysis for defects and collaborate with teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of quality assurance processes and products.

Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance role preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work on both shifts as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
  • Experience with Oracle database systems strongly preferred.
  • Certification in quality assurance or inspection is a plus.
  • CDL Preferred
