Job description

Whether you like tinkering with cars, motorcycles, machines, or electrical work for fun or as a profession, here is an opportunity to make a career out of it! Solar Atmospheres is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to add to its team in Chesterfield, MI.

What you'll do

In this position, you'll work alongside an experienced Maintenance Manager to play a vital role in doing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and fixing furnaces and other equipment that keep Solar Atmospheres' facility running.

Your schedule will be Monday-Friday from 7am-3:30pm. We wish we could control when equipment breaks, but we can't, so occasional overtime may be needed as things come up. Under the support and guidance of the Maintenance Manager, you could expect the following responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and modifications on all machines and equipment
  • Troubleshoot, problem-solve, and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Fabricate, organize, and stock spare parts
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace at all times
  • Assist with some light building maintenance and upkeep
  • Other job duties as necessary

What you need to thrive in this role

  • High School Diploma or (GED)
  • Technical School degree, electrical certification, or relevant work experience
  • General knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, wiring, and troubleshooting circuits
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, plus work in a standing position for most of the day
  • Dependability and a willingness to learn
  • Experience in welding, pipe fitting, welding, and brazing a plus
