POSITION SUMMARY

A Personal Banker is responsible for selling a full range of banking services and products with an emphasis on growing customer relationships and is actively engaged in outside business development. This position has primary responsibility for sales and service delivery. The position requires exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. The Personal Banker position actively participates in sales efforts and campaigns and customer service opportunities. Business development is also a primary focus and the Personal Banker must be able to manage time proficiently, make calls and maintain an active business pipeline.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Must adhere to the Core Values of 1st Security Bank and demonstrate dependability and reliability in all aspects of the position
  • Understands and promotes the Bank’s Customer Service Protocols in daily branch operations
  • Self-starter that can work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize job responsibilities as required while maintaining organization
  • Excellent and professional oral and written communication skills and follow-up when corresponding with employees and customers
  • Ability to identify weaknesses in current bank processes to improve operational efficiency and the customer experience
  • Must know the features and benefits of 1st Security’s products and services
  • Required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of teller, vault and safe deposit box to support and back-up the team when needed
  • Appropriately uses open ended profiling questions during each customer interaction and recommends appropriate bank products and services
  • Demonstrates an excellent ability to “ask for the business” and to “close the sale”
  • Consistently documents appropriate customer information in a timely basis in Bank’ system of record
  • Opens new accounts for consumers and business customers in strict accordance with bank’s policies and procedures, including, but not limited to the Customer Information Program (CIP) and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Appropriately cross-sells additional bank’s products and services
  • Actively maintains a business development pipeline
  • Appropriately refers prospects to other bank partners (e.g. Home Lending, Community and Business Banking, Commercial)
  • Participates in the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) activities and community event sponsorship efforts
  • Researches and resolves customer complaints when necessary
  • Takes action to connect with customers in a way that promotes 1st Security Bank
  • Achieves monthly sales, profile and outbound call goals
  • May be called on to be the supervisor on the team in the absence of management
  • Takes responsibility for learning and growth opportunities using the Branch Development Plan
  • Participates in branch operational and audit activities as assigned
  • Follows appropriate steps to ensure branch security
  • Travels to assigned 1st Security Bank locations as business needs require
  • Supports management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner and always represents the bank with a high level of integrity
  • Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years experience in a sales role within a financial institution
  • Basic Knowledge of all applicable Regulations that pertain to this position is required
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering policies, procedures and related programs
  • Must be bondable

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office Products and other Database software.

  • As part of the daily work demands, occasional lifting and moving of objects up to 25 pounds is required
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, as compared to a private office, with light foot traffic and office equipment. The employee must be willing and able to interact frequently with the general public

Salary: $22.00 - $26.00 an hour
