Job description

1st Grade Teacher - 2026-2027 School Year

Requirements:

  • Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)

Benefits: Benefits are in accordance with agreement between Forest Ridge School District 142 and FREA Union.

Sick Leave Days per school year:

Accumulation of Sick Leave Days: Unlimited

Personal Business Leave Days per school year:  2
(NOTE: Unused Personal Business Leave Days will be added to accumulated Sick Leave Days.)

Health Insurance: Any premium increases or decreases shall be split 70 percent to the Board and 30 percent to the employee.

Employees who elect not to participate in the health insurance plan extended by the Board of Education will receive up to $1,300.00 per year.,

Dental Insurance: Teachers may elect to participate in the District's group dental insurance plan as it may exist from time-to-time. Any such particpation shall be only as permitted by the District's insurance carrierand in accord with the carrier's requirement. The employee will pay one hunderd percent (100%) of the premium rate.

Vision Insurance: The employee will pay 1005 of the cost of monthly premiums for vision insurance for employees.

Life Insurance: For full-time certified teachers the Board will provide a $20,000.00 term life insurance policy pursuant to the District life insurance program.

Compensation for Accumulated Sick Days upon Retirement: See Section 12.7.2 of the FREA Agreement. 

Tuition Reimbursement: See Section 12.1 of the FREA  Agreement.
