The City of Lake Oswego is seeking a City Manager for one of Oregon's most desirable residential communities,ย locatedย eight miles south of downtown Portland. Positioned between the Interstate 5 business corridor and the scenic Willamette River, the city is centered around a 405-acre lake and offers a blend of natural beauty, thoughtful planning, and convenient access to the Portland metropolitan area.ย

THE CITY OF LAKE OSWEGOย 

The City of Lake Oswego is a full-service city serving aย population ofย 41,149ย acrossย 11.4 square milesย primarily in Clackamas County, with small portions extending into neighboring Multnomah and Washington counties. Theย Cityย operates with a 2025-27 biennial budget of $461 million and a team of 407 FTEs.ย The Cityย operatesย under the Council-Manager form of government with a City Council composed of aย Mayorย and six Councilors, all elected at large to a four-year term, not to exceed eight consecutive years.ย ย

THE CITY MANAGERย 

Appointed by the City Council, the City Manager serves as the chief administrative officer of theย City, performing all duties as provided in the Charter and ordinances of the City of Lake Oswego and as directed by the City Council. The City Manager is also responsible for enforcing and administering all City laws, ordinances,ย policiesย and regulations. The City Manager's Office has 8.5ย FTEsย and departmental direct reports include the Assistant City Manager, Deputy City Manager, and Sustainability Program Manager.ย
