Job description

The Commercial Business Manager / Estimator is responsible for driving revenue growth through customer relationship development, project estimating, and full lifecycle project oversight. This role blends sales, estimating, and project management to ensure profitable execution and long-term client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach and lead generation
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships from initial contact through project completion
  • Conduct sales calls, prepare proposals, and manage client accounts
  • Meet or exceed division targets for proposals and close ratios
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product innovations

Estimating & Preconstruction
  • Prepare accurate estimates, bids, and proposals
  • Participate in pre-construction planning, budgeting, and project scoping
  • Utilize takeoff and estimating software to develop project costs

Project Management & Execution
  • Manage projects from sale through completion, including financial oversight
  • Review contracts, manage change orders, and track project profitability
  • Support field teams and installers to ensure successful execution
  • Identify and resolve on-site issues as they arise
Qualifications
Required:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Sales, Estimating, or Project Management
  • Strong mathematical and financial acumen (costing, revenue tracking)
  • Experience with estimating tools (On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven ("go-getter") mentality
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Preferred:
  • Experience in construction trades (framing, insulation, fireproofing, waterproofing, sealants, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Safety-sensitive position
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Work performed on job sites with physical activity including climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting
  • Ability to sit, stand, and drive for extended periods
