Senior Fire Alarm Engineer

Summary:
As a Senior Fire Alarm Engineer, you will lead and oversee the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of advances fire alarm systems. Your role is critical in ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations, and in delivering high-quality fire safety solutions that meet the needs of our clients. This position requires a deep understanding of fire alarm technology, systems integration, and industry best practices, coupled with NICET IV certification.
This position is open to start in all offices - Las Vegas, Reno, and Valencia! Please apply to the location you prefer to work in.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and Engineering:
  • Develop detailed fire alarm system designs in compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and client specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine system requirements and design parameters.
  • Create and review system drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

2. Project Management:
  • Lead fire alarm projects from inception through completion, including project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems.

3. Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues and technical problems.
  • Stay current with advancements in fire alarm technology and industry trends.

4. Compliance Standards:
  • Ensure that all fire alarm systems are designed and installed in accordance with NICET standards, NFPA guidelines, and local codes.
  • Prepare and review compliance documentation and system test reports.

5. Communication:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding fire alarm system projects.
  • Conduct client meetings and presentations to discuss system design, implementation plans, and project status.
  • Address client concerns and provide solutions to ensure client satisfaction.

6. Training and Development:
  • Provide training and mentorship to less experienced engineers and technical staff.
  • Develop and deliver training programs related to fire alarm systems and industry best practices.

7. Safety:
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols during the design, installation, and maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the team and ensure that all team members follow safety guidelines.

8. Miscellaneous Tasks:
  • Travel to project sites as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • F-Card, NICET IV (required), OSHA-30, Lift, CPR and other relevant certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience in fire alarm engineering, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.
  • Proficiency with industry standards and local building codes.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and engineering software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
