What are Fire Advisors?

Fire Advisors are professionals who provide expert guidance on fire safety, prevention, and risk management. They work with organizations, businesses, and communities to assess fire risks, develop safety plans, and ensure compliance with fire regulations. Fire Advisors may conduct site inspections, deliver training, and recommend improvements to fire protection systems. Their goal is to minimize fire hazards and help people respond effectively in the event of a fire.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fire Advisor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fire Advisor, you need expertise in fire safety regulations, risk assessment, and emergency planning, usually backed by relevant qualifications such as a degree in fire engineering or certification in fire safety. Familiarity with fire modeling software, safety audit tools, and compliance management systems is often expected. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills help Fire Advisors effectively guide clients and stakeholders in fire risk mitigation. Job description

Who We Are

At Encore Fire Protection, we are proud to be the east coast's largest full-service fire protection company, serving over 90,000 customers from Maine to Louisiana. With a team of over 2,200 dedicated employees, we provide innovative, customized fire suppression, fire sprinkler, and fire alarm solutions that protect lives and properties every day.

Our goal is to deliver superior experience to those who trust us to safeguard what matters most. We are passionate about continuous growth, innovation, and maintaining a culture that thrives on success and commitment to safety. Our mission? To be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Fire Alarm Systems Executive who brings curiosity, confidence, and a natural ability to connect with people. The ideal candidate will guide customers through the estimating and proposal process with accuracy and professionalism. You do not need prior fire protection experience to excel here.

What matters most is your willingness to learn, your commitment to doing the work, and your ability to hold a conversation while still driving toward a result. If you are competitive, detail oriented, and resilient, you will thrive in this role. This is not your typical sales position.

You will split your time between field assessments and office-based estimating, working closely with internal teams to build accurate proposals and communicate effectively with customers. The technical learning curve is real, but the growth opportunity is substantial.

Key Responsibilities

Your work blends technical estimating, relationship building, and cross functional coordination. You will own the process from initial walkthrough to final proposal. Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting customers, conducting site surveys, and gathering accurate measurements and system information
  • Building estimates, proposals, and preengineering solutions for fire protection projects
  • Reviewing construction documents and coordinating with general contractors, owners, and internal technical teams to define project scope
  • Collaborating with project management, design, field operations, and fellow estimators to ensure proposals are accurate and aligned
  • Maintaining strong customer relationships through calls, emails, and in person meetings
  • Spending time in the field to understand system conditions, build rapport, and produce accurate pricing
  • Approximately 70 percent of your time will be spent in the office working on estimates and proposals, with the remainder dedicated to customer-facing interactions.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Formal sales experience that goes beyond retail or hospitality. Experience selling a service is a plus
  • A strong willingness to learn, especially within a technical environment
  • Proficiency with email, word processing, and spreadsheet software
  • A readiness to adopt and self-teach on systems such as CRM platforms, ticketing software, and industry-specific tools
  • A people-oriented approach that allows you to build trust and rapport
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow through
  • A competitive spirit and the resilience to keep moving when things get complex

What Makes You Stand Out

  • You have experience estimating fire protection, life safety, or construction projects
  • You have worked directly with general contractors, project managers, or field technicians and understand how projects move from bid to installation.
  • You have prior experience in a private equity-backed or fast-growing environment where speed, precision, and adaptability matter.
  • You have a track record of building long term customer relationships and being viewed as a trusted advisor rather than a transactional salesperson.
  • You have experience using CRM platforms, estimating software, or industry-specific tools, and can pick up new systems quickly.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to balance multiple bids at once while keeping accuracy and professionalism high.
Beyond the Paycheck

At Encore, we're all about creating a culture where success is celebrated. We recognize that our work makes people's lives safer, and we reward those who contribute to our growth. Here's what you can expect:

  • Competitive Salary: Compensation commensurate with your experience, with the opportunity to earn performance-based bonuses tied to your personal effectiveness and contributions to the team.
  • Purpose-Driven Work Environment: We believe in working smarter, not harder. You'll be part of a culture that values results, and we empower our team to focus on impactful work.
  • Flexible Dress Code: Upon joining, you'll receive branded Encore swag, and we believe in dressing for the objective, not the occasion. Most days, you can enjoy a casual work environment, but we'll dress up when the situation calls for it.
  • People-Focused Culture: We know our greatest strength is our people. That's why we've built a culture that encourages experimentation, learning, and improving together. You'll have the space to share your ideas and help shape a company that is constantly growing.
  • Tools for Success:Access to leading-edge web-based productivity tools.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to keep you and your family healthy.
  • Retirement Planning: Participation in our Fidelity 401(k) plan with a company match, helping you save for your future.
  • Life Insurance: Company-paid life insurance policy of $50,000 to give you peace of mind.
