Job description

At Heiman Fire Equipment we take pride in creating custom-built fire trucks and providing the best equipment in the fire industry for each and every department we serve and to deliver the best possible experience to our customers. Heiman Fire is looking to hire a Fire Truck Assembler responsible for assembling various parts for the different fire trucks we build.

Responsibilities

  • Position and fasten together custom assemblies related to fire fighting
  • Bolt, screw, clip or otherwise fasten custom parts including; mounting steps, handrails, lighting options, cabinetry, or other related items
  • Install custom Fire Truck accessories according to customer specifications
  • Cuts and bends metal trim to specified size and configuration using tools and machines
  • Perform basic electrical work related to fire fighting
  • Sand, grind, or prepare surfaces
  • Clean and detail equipment prior to customer inspection
  • Test equipment used with fire fighting apparatus
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with autobody repair or automotive body shop preferred
  • Associates Degree in Auto Body repair or related area preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Strong Mathematical skills
