Description
Associated Fire Protection is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Fire Protection Sprinkler Apprentice to join our team. This position offers hands-on training in installing, inspecting, testing, performing repairs and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, as well as various types of fire protection systems and equipment as needed. If you're ready to learn, develop valuable skills, and start a career in the fire protection industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Associated Fire Protection, founded in 1947, is a leader in fire protection and life safety. We have offices located through New Jersey and New York. We are seeking motivated individuals to join our growing team. While previous experience in fire protection is a plus, we are also looking for people looking to make a change to an industry that is dedicated to protecting lives and property. Essential Functions- including but not limited to:
  • Apprentices will acquire knowledge to work as a fire protection technician with the ability to inspect, install, and service fire protection sprinkler systems.
  • Skills developed during this apprenticeship will not only enable participants to work in the fire protection industry but will also provide them with skills that are directly transferable to other industries including plumbing, HVAC, and electronics.
  • Complies with federal, state, and company employment and safety policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, employees and other correspondences both orally and in writing.
  • Attitude and actions are in line with company's mission statement, vision and values
  • Keep appointments and show up to work on time.

General Functions
  • This position includes a lot of interaction with customers and coworkers. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and enjoy collaboration with others.
  • The successful candidate should read and be aligned with company's mission statement, vision and values.

Requirements
Qualifications, Experience and Education- including but not limited to:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand English is required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. Emergency Service shifts are a requirement for this job.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with the company's safety and employment policies.
