Job description

SUMMARY
The Fintech Analyst provides statistical and quantitative techniques to enhance reporting, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making within a legal professional service environment. This role involves extracting and analyzing large datasets to produce management reporting. The Analyst will collaborate with finance leadership and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate, well-documented analytical insights.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and analytical frameworks using statistical techniques such as regression, time- series forecasting, classification and clustering to improve forecasting accuracy and strategic decision making.
  • Extract, transform, and analyze large, complex datasets using SQL and modern analytics tools (e.g., Python/R), ensuring data integrity, reconciliation, and alignment with accounting balancing controls.
  • Support and enhance financial systems and reporting platforms, including SaaS-based and cloud analytics environments (e.g., Oracle, AWS, Azure), while contributing to processes, data pipelines and monthly reporting distribution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, improved data pipelines and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance leadership and internal stakeholders to deliver accurate, well-documented analytical insights. This includes communicating complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience drafting models in Excel required
  • Experience with cloud-based analytics environments (e.g. Oracle, AWS, Azure) is a plus
  • Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Dodeca, or similar)
  • Experience working in, supporting, or analyzing SaaS-based platforms is a plus (Oracle preferred)
  • Solid understanding of financial business and fintech use cases such as Client Matter Profitability, financial modeling and data mining analysis, and legal compensation/bonus forecasting
  • Experience applying analytics to partnership/committee behavior, transaction data, revenue optimization, and risk management
  • Strong writing and ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MS in Analytics/Data Science/Finance) is a plus
  • 3-5+ years of experience in fintech, financial services, legal services, technology, or data-driven analytical roles

COMPENSATION
The base salary range offered for this role will be between $90,000 and $120,000. When determining a candidate's compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
