DESCRIPTION:

Looking for meaningful work as a marketing copywriter with a company that’s committed to making the world a better place? This Copywriter role is an outstanding opportunity to produce high-impact campaigns and coordinated tactics with the persuasive and creative power to further elevate an industry-leading brand. The selected candidate will join a growing team of dedicated marketing copywriters who work alongside visual designers, webpage designers, and other marketing professionals within our in-house agency to deliver wide-ranging marketing materials that correspond to comprehensive strategic marketing plans.

LOCATION: On-site in Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is NOT provided. 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

A Day in the Life:
  • Craft thoughtful, innovative marketing communications across multiple channels consistent with brand standards, adhering to guidelines both in writing for multiple communication mediums and in interacting with internal partners.
  • Develop copy that conforms to layout and other design parameters while maintaining the consistent voice and style of each respective brand.
  • Brainstorm and develop dynamic and compelling creative concepts, both independently and collaboratively, that advance marketing strategies and integrated campaigns.
  • Collaborate broadly with individual contributors from diverse teams to translate strategies outlined in creative briefs into engaging concepts and copy, all while embracing recognized guidelines.

  • Excel at writing creatively for headlines and campaign concepts, while also being adept at writing technically about product details.
  • Work on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring that you complete projects on time while upholding the highest standards of quality and creativity.
  • Continuously build your institutional knowledge of the company, its products, and the markets it serves.
     
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Science, Communications, English, Journalism, Advertising, or similar required.
Experience
  • 4+ years’ related marketing writing experience that includes creative concepting, ideally for a retail company and/or agency.
  • Demonstrable proficiency or comfort level working with material of a highly technical or scientific nature.
     
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Applications MUST include writing samples or a Portfolio
  • Exceptional writing skills demonstrating excellent knowledge of grammar, keen attention to detail—including excellent spelling and proofreading skills—strong story construction skills, and standout creative abilities.
  • Proven experience in writing both creative and technically oriented copy for on- and off-line marketing collateral and demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely for defined target audiences.
  • Successful track record of combining business objectives, design recommendations, and technical constraints into a single, innovative, brand-right solution.
  • Ability to understand complex, abstract science-based subjects and express them in a straightforward, consumer-friendly way.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in one voice across multiple tactics.
  • Substantial understanding of marketing and branding principles and working knowledge of graphic design and information architecture principles.
  • Effective in-person communication skills, solid presentation skills, and ability to respond positively to critical feedback.

This is an office-based position with some in-office days and some work-from-home days.
