Fintech Implementation focuses on deploying and integrating fintech solutions, requiring technical skills and certifications. What is Fintech Implementation?

Fintech Implementation refers to the process of integrating financial technology solutions into existing business operations or launching new fintech products and services. This involves selecting appropriate technologies, customizing systems, migrating data, ensuring regulatory compliance, and training staff. The goal is to enhance efficiency, improve customer experience, and maintain security within financial services. Successful implementation requires collaboration between technical teams, business stakeholders, and regulatory experts. It is a critical step for organizations aiming to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving financial sector.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fintech Implementation Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Fintech Implementation Specialist, you need a solid background in financial services, project management, and technical integration, often supported by a degree in business, finance, or information technology. Familiarity with API integrations, CRM systems, digital payment platforms, and project management tools (such as Jira or Trello) is typically required, and certifications like PMP or Agile can be advantageous. Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving skills help professionals navigate client requirements and facilitate smooth product deployments. These skills ensure successful implementation of fintech solutions, leading to client satisfaction and streamlined financial operations.

What are some common challenges faced during the implementation of fintech solutions, and how can they be addressed?

Fintech Implementation professionals often encounter challenges such as integrating new technologies with legacy systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing stakeholder expectations. Successfully addressing these challenges requires clear communication with technical teams, thorough planning for data migration, and close collaboration with compliance departments to meet legal standards. Proactive risk assessments and regular updates with stakeholders can also help ensure smooth project delivery and minimize disruptions.

Description

About the Team

Huntington Ventures is the corporate venture and strategic growth arm of one of the largest regional banks in the country. We build and acquire. We partner with fintech companies, evaluate strategic investments, and execute deals that shape where financial services is headed. Our team sits at the intersection of capital, technology, and emerging growth strategy, working directly with senior leadership to move fast and execute with excellence.

You'll report to the Ventures Program Director and work across every major business segment, touching strategic partnerships, investments, and non-bank M&A.

If you're someone who thrives on structure inside ambiguity, who can hold a deal together while the details are still moving, this role was built for you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead due diligence and implementation planning for Ventures programs including strategic partnerships, investments, and M&A transactions
  • Build and drive cross-functional workstreams, keeping business leaders, sponsors, and operational partners moving toward the same finish line
  • Serve as the program-level advisor ensuring delivery is on time, on scope, and within budget , while governance stays intact
  • Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and escalate with clear recommendations when needed
  • Direct program teams across projects and operations, maintaining accountability at every stage

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance field
  • 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting, banking, or financial services
  • 7+ years leading due diligence and implementation for strategic partnerships or corporate development with exposure to M&A

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing programs of varying scale, from targeted partnerships to complex integrations
  • Comfort leading cross-functional work that spans both business and technology
  • Clear, confident communicator, you can distill complex status and risks into what leadership needs to hear
  • Fluency in both business and technical requirements, you can gather specs and translate them
  • Strong command of project lifecycle methodologies including Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and iterative approaches
  • You don't need perfect conditions to lead; you perform well when the path isn't fully defined yet
