Position Overview:
We are looking for an energetic, motivated Chemist to help develop the next generation of coatings, surface treatments, laminations and other products to support business growth in our family of companies.
This position will include on-the-job training, working first in a support role to our experienced engineers, operators, and technical staff.  From day one, you’ll be involved in active production, quality assurance, product development, and learn how chemical engineering principles are applied in real business environments.  Eventually, the position will lead R&D efforts related to the chemistry of our new product development.  
This position is unrelated to biology or the medical field.  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulation support and evaluation of coatings and surface treatments
  • Process control and optimization of chemical and coating operations
  • Material testing, data collection, and performance analysis
  • Root cause analysis of quality and process issues
  • Own scale-up from lab trials to production environments
Key attributes:
  • Degree in Chemistry or 5 years making chemistries in a lab setting
  • Strong curiosity and willingness to learn on the job
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, production-oriented environment
  • Interest in applied chemistry, materials, and manufacturing
  • We value reliability, engagement, and a desire to learn
Nice to have experience or relevant class-work:
  • Polymer chemistry; inks and coatings, including radiation curables; adhesives; paints
  • Films and substrates
  • Converting machinery such as coating and laminating
