About FIND Outdoors:
FIND is a 50+-year-old nonprofit headquartered in Pisgah Forest, NC whose mission is to provide all people with education, recreational and interpretive opportunities about natural resources and cultural history. FIND Outdoors
serves over 800,000 visitors each year with over 150 educational and recreational programs, special events, and tours, and manages recreation, education, and camping facilities in North Carolina, Kentucky and Georgia. In addition, FIND offers our visitors forest- related gifts, education resources, and provides partnership opportunities for the health of our forests and the safety of our forest users on public and private lands.
About the Opportunity:
Campground Site Host
The Site Host will focus on providing exceptional experiences for all of our visitors through customer relations and ensuring the safe and attractive operation of all grounds and facilities, with a special focus on sustainability and green practices where appropriate. The successful candidate must have the requisite skills to function in this position and will be held to a high standard for customer service, community relations and will be an ambassador to the FIND Outdoors brand.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as support to the Site Manager in areas of public contact and security.
  • Resolution of guest complaints.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and patrols.
  • Assists with weekly inspection and reports any safety hazards to the Site Manager.
  • Perform routine bathroom cleaning daily to FIND standards, identifying hazards, removing graffiti, washing/treating all signage, tables, and boardwalks.
  • Emptying recycling containers and collecting trash from receptacles and grounds.
  • Removal of ashes/wood/litter in fire rings.
  • Rake/clean campsites and other campground facilities and grounds.
  • Perform any duties required to maintain operational integrity.
  • Maintaining vehicular access, parking lots, and walkways and ensuring they are free of vegetation and pot holes.
  • Participation in regular site meetings.
  • Mowing and/or weed eating responsibilities, as assigned by Manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Campground Manager or Campground Operations Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as both part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to meet the public and communicate effectively both in person and on the telephone, providing information regarding services and/or programs.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously within a strict time frame.
  • Ability to walk up to 1/2 mile daily and lift twenty (20) lbs.
  • Ability to move, lift and utilize handheld gas powered grounds keeping equipment.
  • Ability to see and hear in to order to safely drive a golf cart.
  • Possess camping trailer or motor home in good condition.
