Job description

Personalis, Inc. is a leader in advanced genomics for precision oncology. NeXT Personal is an ultra-sensitive, tumor-informed, WGS-based liquid biopsy assay designed to detect minimal residual disease (MRD) and cancer recurrence. It leverages whole-genome sequencing of a patient's tumor and matched normal samples to create personalized panel of up to 1,800 somatic variants, enabling the detection of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) at very low levels (down to ~1-3 PPM) in blood samples. To enable cancer and population sequencing, Personalis' Clinical Laboratory was built with a focus on clinical accuracy, quality, big data, scale, and efficiency. Personalis is based in Fremont, California.

Summary:

We are looking for a Temporary Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance team for an expected duration of 6 months. This role will be responsible for monthly reporting, enhancing our work processes, and supporting our business partners. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, familiarity with finance/accounting concepts, and experience in transforming manual workflows into automated, AI-driven processes.

Onsite: Monday & Tuesday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly calculation, tracking, and analysis of sales commissions based on sales incentive plan guidelines
  • Manage monthly plan to actual spend variance review process to understand key drivers and insights
  • Support monthly forecasting, as well as annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning processes
  • Automate analytical dashboards, presentation materials, and custom reports by leveraging available AI tools
  • Develop data connectors to automate data transfers between different financial systems
  • Design and build AI assisted workflows to automate repeatable finance tasks - revenue & cost analysis, headcount, spend vs plan variance tracking
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy across all reports and data sources

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a similar analytical role; recent college graduates with understanding of AI tools are encouraged to apply
  • Solid comprehension of basic accounting concepts and the structural relationships between financial statements
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, including building and maintaining financial models with complex formulas and logical functions
  • High attention to detail and capability to manage multiple projects
  • Communication skills to convey complex financial information in a clear and concise manner

The hiring range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 per year, which may factor in various geographic regions.
