Job description

As a PR Manager within Gateway PR, you'll serve in a hybrid PR and communications manager role supporting corporate communications accounts across a range of industries. You'll partner closely with clients to understand their business, shape their messaging, and elevate their visibility through strategic media relations, PR campaigns, and owned content.

In addition to leading day-to-day PR execution and media outreach, you'll be expected to develop corporate social media content for various B2B companies. Acting as an extension of both the client team and Gateway PR, you'll help execute communications programs from strategy through daily posting.


This is a hybrid position requiring at least 3 days in the office based in Newport Beach, California.


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact and help manage account workflows, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support day-to-day client needs across PR, corporate communications, media relations, and social media.
  • Conduct proactive media outreach and pitch story ideas to national, regional, broadcast, podcast, online, and trade media.
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, executive bios, speaking abstracts, LinkedIn posts, X content, and other communications materials.
  • Help manage select corporate and executive social media accounts, including content development and scheduling.
  • Prepare client meeting agendas, notes, action items, and support leading client calls and media interviews.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives including byline development, speaking opportunities and awards research, as needed.
  • Identify creative story angles, thought leadership opportunities, newsjacking campaigns, and timely media moments for clients.
  • Conduct media monitoring, track industry trends and breaking news, and share relevant opportunities with clients and internal teams.
  • Develop monthly client recap reports and track media and social performance using tools like Muckrack and Meltwater.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and strategic counsel.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-4 years of experience working in a PR/Communications agency.
  • Hands-on experience in campaign development and execution and content development for corporate companies
  • Experience supporting B2B, corporate, technology, energy, financial, or fintech clients preferred.
  • Proficient in communications tracking software (Meltwater, Muckrack, etc.).
  • Experience in writing business communications (executive emails, blog posts, press releases, LinkedIn copy, etc.).
