About This Position:
This position serves as one of the department wide technical experts in the Decision Support Unit of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) Enterprise Support Services Section. This position receives direction from the Business Analytics Specialist - Data Governance Lead.

Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in the development, implementation, or administration of a transportation or safety program; or in engineering, architecture, geography, human resources, financial operations, information technology, risk management, policy planning, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in the development, implementation, or administration of a transportation or safety program; or in engineering, architecture, geography, human resources, financial operations, information technology, risk management, policy planning, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in the development, implementation, or administration of a transportation or safety program; or in engineering, architecture, geography, human resources, financial operations, information technology, risk management, policy planning, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus two years of experience in the development, implementation, or administration of a transportation or safety program; or in engineering, architecture, geography, human resources, financial operations, information technology, risk management, policy planning, or administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
  • Executes and supports the strategic vision of data governance initiatives.
  • Assists with the planning and executing of use cases and managing the ongoing backlog to ensure timely delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoots, profiles data, and connects the right individuals-including data stewards and owners-to address stakeholder needs effectively.
  • Assists in creating and maintaining critical policies and procedures that define and uphold data governance standards.
  • Serves as a bridge between data governance leadership and new initiative teams, ensuring that data considerations are embedded into emerging projects from the outset.
  • Provides technical expertise to analyze, interpret, and clarify functional configuration details.
  • Provides technical services in training, mentoring, and coaching professional and technical staff on LaGov matters related to assigned area.
  • Utilizes project management principles to ensure that project assignments are accomplished and uses the information in reporting and communicating project status and issues.
