Job description

Location: Scottsdale, AZ 85255 - This role is based at our Scottsdale Global Support Center, where Team Members collaborate in person at least three days per week, with additional in-office days as business needs require.
P.F. Chang's is seeking a Director of Financial Operations to join our Accounting leadership team. This role is responsible for overseeing accounting operations, financial controls, process improvement initiatives, and team development within a multi-unit restaurant environment.
The Director of Financial Operations will partner closely with the VP Controller, Finance leadership, and cross-functional business partners to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and operational excellence. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking, day-to-day execution, team leadership, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accounting activities, reconciliations, analyses, and reporting deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • Partner with the VP Controller to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Research, document, and apply U.S. GAAP guidance to non-routine and complex accounting transactions.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of audit support documentation.
  • Direct public-company readiness, SOX compliance, and other governance initiatives to support the Company's continued growth.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for accounting operations and provide guidance on complex accounting matters.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance financial reporting, controls, and operational effectiveness.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team through effective performance management and career development.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and represent the Accounting team in a professional, collaborative, and solutions-oriented manner.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA license strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-unit, retail, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including experience researching and applying accounting guidance.
  • Experience with financial close processes, reconciliations, audit support, and internal controls.
  • Public-company readiness and/or SOX compliance experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with fixed asset accounting.
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvements.
  • Strong financial reporting and systems skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Workday Financials experience preferred.
